Hello! I’m Karen.

I recently graduated from the ALA-accredited Master of Science in Information at the University of Michigan’s School of Information, focusing on Library and Information Science and Human-Computer Interaction. I received my undergraduate degree in Business Management from Wittenberg University, in Springfield, Ohio.

I am passionate about teaching and  information literacy initiatives, providing accessibility solutions to all users, and helping users find long-term solutions to their research questions.   I am currently looking for a position in an academic setting.  Ideally, I would like to work as a librarian in an academic or special library where I can be committed full-time to helping people research.

This summer I am working at the Kresge Business Administration Library as a Circulation Supervisor as well as for the Bentley Historical Library as a Research Assistant.   At Kresge Library, I work nights and weekends, opening and closing the library, providing late-night reference assistance to students, managing the library, and supervising all of the part-time library student staff.  At the Bentley Historical Library this summer, I am a Reference Assistant, responding to archival research requests via email, letter, and in person.

Inside this site you will find more information about me and several projects that I have completed and am currently working on.
